alright, I realize I haven’t been faithful to my devoted readers (which I think I can count on one hand.) after a few subtle (and not-so-subtle) hints, I figured it’s time for a refresher. one should keep in mind that someone who didn’t update his site for a year (and is new to this “blogging” crap) shouldn’t be throwing stones (or pot, for that matter. :)

and hey, I’m not the only one who’s been neglecting his site …

I haven’t updated this thing in a while, so here goes.

so, what’s been up recently? as it turns out, not too much. I spent a week of the xmas break sick in bed (of course, it had to be on my vacation days), and really only started feeling better this week. the adcritic thing fell through, big time. I bought some speakers, working on a bit of a home theatre setup — just need to dig up a good subwoofer now (been looking at velodyne and klipsch; some very nice stuff there.) and then there’s the xbox. I won’t even get into that one — there’s enough meat there for a whole other posting. let me tell you, surround sound makes all the difference …

other than that, I’m still busy working for spy wireless and a couple of other clients. still keeping up with my java, taking a course in network programming, one course away from finishing my programme.

I even picked up a motorola i90c so I can get started on a little j2me development. since telus doesn’t support over-the-air (ota) download of j2me apps (!), unlike nextel in the states, and just about every other telco/provider in europe and the americas, I can’t do any network development (!!). that *really* sucks. according to telus, ota download will be enabled sometime in early 2002, so I guess that means sometime before the end of june.. if I’m lucky. at least I can still download local apps to the phone and run them. you know what that means — games! so my first decent-sized j2me project will probably a little game. if you have any suggestions, give me a shout. maybe I’ll use your idea. but keep in mind we’re talking about a 4-colour screen here. :)

so, the one thing I’ve realized while writing this is that I seriously need to consider a site redesign. I know I was talking about it before (ahem), but I still haven’t gotten around to starting (as you can probably guess.) I definitely need to setup this page to allow more than one posting.. takes a bit of typing to fill up the whole thing. hehe.
