hey all.

been a while since I’ve posted here. over 6 months, even. very bad of me, I apologize. I’ve been neglecting this site to the extreme … looks like it’s time for a redesign, too. ugh. :P

so, what’s new with nick?

I’m no longer at versatile mobile systems. I quit in favour of a great consulting shop in gastown (in vancouver, bc) by the name of openroad communications. I’ve been here about 2 weeks now; the people are great, and I have a tonne of work to do, already.

it’s cool working in a company with a very nicely defined development process and workflow. I’m getting a taste of project management right now, which is a change of pace from my usual hectic programming schedule. not to say that I won’t be writing code — that’s coming up soon too. my first project is pretty interesting, entirely written in PHP and using MySQL-Max for the data store. long live open source!

on the home front, kath and I moved into a new 2-bdrm apartment (well, new to us, it’s not all that new in reality), just off oak and 14th in vancouver (very close to VGH). it’s awesome, tonnes of space (930+ sq. ft.!) and I actually have my own office. this is a major bonus. :) I’ll snap some shots soon and post them … time to get my photo gallery back in action.

gaming wise? been playing a lot of dark age of camelot, trying to get my friends hooked on it as well. can’t wait for the expansion pack (due in october). other than that, I bought neverwinter nights and warcraft 3, but with all the frenetic action of the last few weeks, I have yet to try either.

I’ll try and keep this updated a little more regularly. (yeah, right!)

EDIT (08.24.2002): Wow. People are still posting to cluckyourown adventure! I’m surprised, as I haven’t advertised it at all; thought it was long dead. So, go in and contribute some interactive fiction, while you’re here. And don’t forget the poultry theme! ;)
