As an aside, I bought my first real CD in several months today.. online. Why, you say? Because I couldn’t find the damned thing on iTunes. Armchair Cynics gets tons of airplay on local stations in town, but you can’t even find a single anywhere. Went to the usual suspects (Future Shop, A&B), haven’t bothered checking Zulu Records on 4th or any of the more interesting places out there. Ended up buying their first disc off the 604 Records site (wow, what an amazingly shitty interface.. you’d think they were trying to scare people away from buying stuff), after checking Amazon.ca and finding it sold out. Their new single (”Bang”) isn’t available anywhere that I can tell. If anyone knows where I might find it on MP3 (something downloadable, not streaming!).. drop me a note here.
Oh yeah.. completely off topic. I watched Hide and Seek last night. OK, totally not worth the $5 and change Blockbuster charged me for a new release.. gah. Deniro should be ashamed of making that movie. On a more positive note, I saw War of the Worlds (yeah, Tom Cruise vs. aliens, seems kind of against his religion, doesn’t it?) which wasn’t half bad. I was expecting it to be pretty mediocre, but I was pleasantly surprised. The only complaint I’d have is that the ending was abrupt and totally didn’t work with the rest of the movie’s plot. Meh.
I did see a longer preview for The Island during the trailers, and I have to say that I’m looking forward to seeing it. Which is odd, because the first trailer I saw for it a couple of months back was quite uninspired. Aside from the SW movies, Ewan McGregor generally makes pretty decent films, so we’ll see how it is.

Hey! About Bang, the single wasn’t commercially released to stores (it should be on itunes though), BUT it WILL be on the new cd “Killing the Romance” which is out August 23rd!!
hey nikki, I found it on iTunes a few days ago, but I’ll definitely be picking up the CD when it’s released. :) thanks for the info!
